Breast Imaging center. Our staff is dedicated to the excellence

in care of the breast patient. We not only feature full service breast

imaging, but we also feature the complete clinical patient examination

and followup of benign and malignant breast disease as well as

surgical intervention when necessary. 

The Breast Center of Texoma has a complete and convenient on-site

Imaging center. We have North Texas' first clinic-operated Digital

Stereotactic Biopsy System, and Texoma's only Somovue CT-3D

Ultrasonography and Breast Specific Molecular Imaging capabilities,

as well as state of the art Full Field Digital Hologic Selenia

Mammography. We also feature osteoporosis evaluation of all

patients with the QDR 4000 Diagnostic HOLOGIC Bone Densitometer.

Full Field Digital Mammography / CAD (Computer Aided Detection)

Quality mammography is the most important tool of any breast clinic. Our Hologic Selenia Full Field Digital Mammography System features less radiation and unparalleled contrast resolution over conventional mammography, especially in the evaluation of the dense breast.

Experience of the technologist is critical in mammographic quality and our certified mammographers are experienced in and dedicated specifically to breast imaging and care.

All mammograms are also evaluated by CAD (computer aided detection).

CAD in conjunction with a radiologist's reading is considered 90% accurate. CAD is like getting a "second opinion" with a computer. Full Field Digital Mammography has advantages over film mammography in better evaluating ladies with dense breasts as well as exhibiting less radiation with less time and compression needed to accomplish the mammogram. Sonography including the Automated Breast Ultrasound System

Breast Ultrasonography compliments mammograpy in all areas but especially in evaluating the dense breast.

The Breast Center of Texoma is one of the few facilities in Texas to have Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS) capability. The 3D-CT ABUS Ultrasound System takes up to 350 ultrasound images of the breast and then relays the images to a work station for 3D rendering analysis. The 3D-CT ultrasound is ideal in evaluating younger ladies as well as evaluating any lady with dense breasts in which the scope of mammography is limited.

3D-CT ultrasonography is complimented by the Aloka 2D Ultrasound for real time breast scanning and to specifically target abnormalities for ultrasound localized biopsies.

Stereotactic Imaging, Localization and Biopsy 

The Digital Stereotactic Imaging and Minimally Invasive Biopsy System is one of the biggest advances in overall breast care in the last decade. 

Stereotactic digital imaging allows virtually any breast abnormality to be localized and thus pin pointed for either removal or biopsy. The Breast Center of Texoma was the first Breast Clinic in Texoma to utilize this technology. Many biopsies can be done stereotactically in the Breast Center as opposed to undergoing surgical excision at the hospital. This compliments both mammography and ultrasonography in obtaining biopsies of small to almost microscopic lesions. This is just one more tool to help with the early detection of breast cancer.

Breast Specific Molecular Imaging - Dilon 

Breast Specific Molecular Imaging (BSMI) is one of the most recent advances in breast imaging and The Breast Center of Texoma is the one of the few breast centers in Texas with this technology. 

BSMI studies the breast at the molecular level and provides information that no other breast imaging modality can. With 99% accuracy it can image breast cancers as small as 3mm when other study modalities are negative. This highly sensitive exam is a great tool to compliment digital mammogralphy and 3D-CT ultrasonography in the early detection of breast cancer. Evaluating the dense breast presents the biggest challenge to all breast centers and Breast Specific Molecular Imaging and 3D-CT Ultrasonography allow us to better accept and meet that challenge.

Bone Densitometry

Bone Densitometry (DEXA) adds an important dimension to our Breast Center in managing the needs of our patients. We offer DEXA exams to patients for the diagnosis of osteoporosis and to closely monitor patients who are on drug therapy. The ability to compare each scan allows us to track a patient's need and changes in bone health. This is a simple, inexpensive and accurate test and is especially useful in following patients who have a contraindication to hormonal management of their osteoporosis or osteopenia.
